Origins
No single tale agrees on the truth of Nihil’s beginnings. Sailors whisper that they were once a spelljamming wanderer lost in wildspace, so long adrift that their spirit slipped free of its flesh and roamed as an astral shadow. Some say this phantom self stumbled into a manifest zone that opened into the Quasi-Elemental Plane of Vacuum, where it lingered until the silence itself consumed and remade it. Others insist that Nihil was never mortal at all, but the Void’s first thought given form. None can prove which story holds truth, for Nihil does not answer questions—only waits.

Description
Nihil manifests as a hollow silhouette rimmed in starlight, a shape that seems to consume the gaze. Their presence is not seen or heard but felt as the oppressive dread that settles when one is truly alone, the suffocating silence that presses in when no other life stirs nearby. Their voice is an aching pressure in the chest, as if breath itself resists being drawn. There is no clergy to speak for them—only the countless travelers of wildspace who whisper prayers to stave off the crushing weight of solitude. Temples are unnecessary; a drifting deck beneath alien stars is worship enough.

Dogma
Embrace the truth of emptiness. All things end, all lights fade, and silence will swallow all sound. Do not cling to what is fleeting, but accept its passing. Destroy only what lingers past its time. Erase names, histories, and voices, for nothing is sacred but the void. Prayers are whispered not in hope of blessings but to ward away despair, and curses invoke the Void itself to claim one’s enemies, consigning them to despair and isolation.

Home Sphere
The name, features, and celestial architecture of this deity's native crystal sphere — and its home planet — are unknown. Scholars argue whether the mortal who became Nihil hailed from a lost sphere, or whether the Void itself erased all traces of their origin.
