Commissions
Overview
In a world where magic permeates every aspect of life, the creation of enchanted items is a testament to the skill and expertise of master craftsmen and enchanters. From the humble blacksmith in a small village, capable of forging a blade with the strength of steel, to the grand archmage in a towering citadel, who can imbue that same blade with the power to slay dragons, the process of commissioning such items is as varied and complex as the items themselves.
For adventurers seeking to gain an edge in their quests, commissioning a magic item can be the key to overcoming their greatest challenges. Whether it's a weapon that can pierce the hide of an ancient wyrm, armor that can deflect the deadliest of curses, or an amulet that shields against the foulest of poisons, the right item can make all the difference between victory and defeat.
However, the path to obtaining these coveted items is not one to be taken lightly. It requires not only vast resources and connections but also the time, effort, and sometimes the very essence of the adventurer's soul. The process is intricate, demanding careful negotiation with skilled artisans and enchanters, the procurement of rare and often dangerous materials, and the patience to see the creation through to its final, enchanted form.
What follows are the rules and guidelines for commissioning magic items. These rules will help you navigate the complex process of item creation, from finding the right craftsman to gathering the necessary components, and understanding the costs—both material and immaterial—involved. Whether you seek to create a legendary artifact or a simple enchanted trinket, these guidelines will ensure that the journey is as rewarding as the item itself.

Certain things can reduce the cost of the item:
- Providing the spell included in the cost of the item reduces the base price by 10% per spell component provided (multiple instances are iterative)
- Providing the EXP component of the item reduces the cost by an amount of gold equal to EXP cost
- Providing the material component of the item removes the cost associated with the material cost
